Forum for lure and uses/tips
I was thinking...I'm and avid trout fisherman; and recently started learning how to bass fish and even river fish for salmon. I'm finding and learning all new ways about different set-ups with lures and what not. Maybe we could start a link or forum on different set-ups for the desired fishery that people use and even tips on how to use it. Pictures would be great to be added as well to also see what one looks like. For instance, the hole texas rig thing was new to me...now I know how to set it up and am learning the technique to fish with it. Or the corky and yarn in the river. never used it yet...seen pictures on how to set it up, but techniques I'm still looking for. I know a lot is experimenting and practice, trying new things. But an idea in direction to get started always helps me. Not sure...whats everyone else think?

I say post your questions on riggings in the appropriate section; ie "texas rigging" in the Bass Forum.
Personally Walakes has enough sub-forums (25+ now?) and it makes it excessively difficult to navigate around. Just my opinion.

RE:Forum for lure and uses/tips
What I usually do is to do a search in the forums for what I am looking for and if I don't find it, then just google it. If I still cannot find it, then I will post the question.. Kind of round about, but it works.
It would be cool though to have a link under either "Community", "Features", "Services" or "Members" that just called "rigs" (or something that makes more sense), then just have pictures of different rigs for bass, trout, salmon, etc and maybe a blurb about how to fish it...

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

I know that your point was maybe that you would like to see another forum that spoke to fishing different rigs.
But in the mean time I will throw in that an excellent source of info. for me on how to fish some kind of rig. is to search under youtube for the topic. There are some REALLY good tutorials from people on something such as the Wacky rig, etc.
I am going to take a shot in the dark right now, and do a youtube search for corky and yarn.
Edit: OK, I totaly struck out on the corky/yarn search,, but check out
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_q ... =wacky+rig
for an example of what I mean. (you have to cut paste the entire URL, not just the highlighted part)

Thanks guys! Yeah I've searched YouTube, Searched Goggle, and searched the forums as well and have always found what I need. The State website also has a good article on fishing rivers with different set-ups and how to use them. To skip the run around, why not have a specific spot for these....We could even sub divide them out in the specific forums between freshwater, bass fishing, river fishing, and fly fishing, etc if we need to. Just an idea, but yes I have done the run around and have always found what I needed, but thought adding this addition to the website could really help. We all seem to get a long pretty well; one of the few fishing/hunting forums you won't find people bickering to one another or dragging a topic on too long (without the website moderator stepping in to say, 'That's enough'). Anyway, just a thought....Thanks for the replys though!

RE:Forum for lure and uses/tips
Yea Ryan, I posted something similar a few months back. All the people said was just use the "search" box. Yey!!! That helped.
Some people think that since they know everything about a certain method to catch fish, that the rest of the world knows as well.
As for youtube, unless someone knows the EXACT fishing method used, how are you to know what to search? With all the amount of experienced users here, just putting up the basic ways/setups of catching certain fish would be great.

That's true, I totally agree...the basics...why not keep it simple. I mean aren't we all here learning, and sharing information...I'm still waiting for the Website operators to pipe into the thread...this website has great moderators, maybe they're already working on something....
