Portable Power?

Post by mallard83 » Sat Jun 08, 2013 9:31 pm

I am looking to get a portable power unit/jump start box. I am looking for one mainly for use on multi day river float trips for charging cell phones and other such items. So it would need to have an outlet, usb port or both on it. What brands types/models would you guys suggest? My price range is up to $150.

Oh and also, where would be the best place to pick one up at? Trying to get one before next weekend, so ordering off the internet wouldn't work without rush shipping. Preferably a store within reasonable distance of Bothell.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008YRG5J ... -3&pi=SL75" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I use one of these to charge my phone when I'm camping, etc. It will charge my phone from empty to 100% about 6 times

Not as hardcore as a jumpstart, but weighs a helluvalot less.

I will definitely entertain that idea for my cataraft. I am looking for more of an all around item right now for my drift boat. Where can you get one of those usb chargers locally? Electronics store like Best Buy?

Check out Fryes in Renton... I know it is a little South of you, but they have incredible selection and equally awesome pricing. Those guys at Best Buy are dopes.

Quad is correct . The idiots at Best Buy are dopes. I bought my laptop there and their servicing sucks big time. I would never buy anything from them again.I bought a power converter at Costco. I love it. I run my coffee pot,laptop,or my lil reefer on the one I got that pops in the cig lighter.

They suckered me into the Geek Squad for $99.00 That was a mistake. I got a BSOD and they said I needed a new laptop. I had my friend fix it in 20 mins. No more best buy for this guy.
