Don't like this new site at all!
1. can't stay logged in!
2. can't see if I already read a post!
3. old posts clutter up the site making it hard to see new posts!
4. can't figure out how to be notified of posts to chosen areas
maybe it's me?

Everything you've mentioned has been talked about already. Please read the topics in the forums you are posting before creating a new topic, as doing so will result in less clutter/duplicate posts. The site is still new, give the admin time to work out the problems before complaining too much. Especially the ones that have already been identified and that the admin have already stated they are working on fixing.
Staying logged in:

old posts/clutter:

Thanks for looking up that info, I didn't feel like looking for it all, and NEEDED to mow the yard before it rained, which it started to sprinkle just as I was finishing.

1. It is my understanding that users stay logged in 24/7 now UNLESS they use multiple devices. The only times I find myself logged out is if I check the site on my phone then come back to my PC.
2. The Details/View link will change color after reading. I'll consider making the color change a higher contrast so it's more noticeable.
3. I don't see how that happens. the pages of the site where new vs old items are important are all sorted accordingly by newest to oldest EXCEPT the the indexes under All Reports and that is currently being worked on.
4. You cannot currently be notified of new reports like you could on the old site. This is actually what I'm working on right now.
5. It's not you, it's me.

I still got kicked off while I was mowing the yard and hour plus ago. But when the computer goes into sleep mode again---we'll see.

Try manually logging off on purpose, then on again and see if it stays.

Ok, I logged off, then back on. We'll see if it holds.

I just deleted my cookies, but didn't have to resign in, so we'll see.

I dont much like the colors/contrast but Im good waiting for Aaron to fix that. I seem to be getting notifications alright for forum posts, but have not posted a fishing report in ages, so dont know about that.
My main problem/complaint is when ever I come back to the site I have to log on all over again. It wasnt that way on the old site if I used the "Unread posts" forum page as my start page.
I have been using LastPass to log on automatically to other websites, but it doesnt seem to work here.
Any ideas?
Any ideas? Its a nuisance having to log on each time.
On the plus side, the new site seems to respond much faster.

I have my username and password saved through google chrome, just have to click on the log-in button then back to the forums. If you haven't already, delete your cookies from the website, as most of them will be from the old site, then log in again, this should prompt your password keeper so you don't have to manually enter them in again.

Typed out a post for a forum but the picture I resized and sent to my laptop from my phone posts upside down when I attach it and hit 'preview'. I went back and flipped it, dumped the post, wrote it again, attached the photo, and it was upside down again! Did it one more time, flipping the picture again and it still went in upside down. What the?!?! Weird. It is right side up on the laptop before I attach it.

For me it seems like the ads stand out more than our content. This might be that it is the contrast you were talking about. One report it took me a minute to find it because it was short and lost by the large advertisement.

Another thing that I find a little annoying is there is no way to go directly to the Forum posts from the Home page or from a report page or several other pages. You first have to click on the Home button, or Research button, then go to Forum, then go to Latest Posts or what ever you are looking for.
Thats too many steps.
For me, by a huge margin, the things I do most are read the latest reports and go through the newest, unread Forum posts.
Thats why I would like a fast way to tell if there are new posts and new reports since my last visit as soon as I log on. Then I want to be able to go from one to the other with the fewest mouse operations.

find the 'active topics' in the drop down menu for 'forums'.
click on it
then put a shortcut on your desk top
done - 1 click and you're there
same with fishing reports.

These are little things that are a hassle in a ease of use sense, and that will all get worked out. Over time we placed those items on the old site because everyone needed them and used them a lot. We didn't remove them for any particular reason, we just didn't really have a list of every little thing everyone was used to. Those things will be back, and the "ease" of use will return. My to-do list is still growing at this point... and I'm still working on things. Just please be patient with me.
