Printing Topo Maps
Printing Topo Maps
To the Moderator,
I tried to download and print out one of the topo maps (Blue Lake). I kept getting an eror message that disallowed my printing out the map. Is it my system or is there a particular format necessary to print out? I tried two or three different formats but kept getting the same error window. What am I missing here? Thnx, RF

The method that I use is the following:
Click on the map for the enlargement.
Click on print from the file drop down window in the toolbar.
That sounds real simple, but that is the way that I do it on my Mac. Windows may be different.
You really don't download a map like in PDF format. You simply print the current window.
If that doesn't work, Aaron will be able to assist you in printing the map.

Ron Fox, maybe try pulling up the topo and then on that map right click and in that menu do "save picture as...." and that should save it to your computer. Then go to the program where you saved it at and try printing it from there. If this doesn't work let me know and I would be happy to email it to you.

I have windows Vista and what I do is right click the map. Then left click "Copy Image". Then go to Word and paste it there. Then print it out from Word. Using that method you can add editorial notes about the lake. What kind of launch, are there any fees, favorite lures or flies to use, etc.
Good Luck,

I am using Windows XP but I do the same way. I like the abilty to add my notes and annotations.
'course they don't have biscuits and gravy ... but if they did, I bet everyone would eat there.

Many thanks Gentlemen, for the help on printing the topo map. Problem solved....actually twice. I like the ability to paste to Word and add notes. Looking forward to seeing the Grand Coulee area and wetting a line...or four....or more. Thnx, RF
