Lunar Tables
maybe they work, maybe they don't...can't hurt

RE:Lunar Tables
To me they have been totaly worthless. I've tried a couple times over the years and NEVER have they been acurate. The only thing I use them for is to see when the full or dark moon is going to occur.

RE:Lunar Tables
I use them all the time but you need to read carefully to make sure you were fishing at the correct times.... I love the one in F&S it has worked for me....Amx wrote:To me they have been totaly worthless. I've tried a couple times over the years and NEVER have they been acurate. I'm out there from 5am, or usually earlier, til 10 or noon, and sometimes I even get skunked, and this is on a lake I've been fishing for about 35 years. Then it says the worst time is 8 am, the best time is noon to 2 PM. And I catch the heck out of the fish from 5 am to 8 and nothing after 8 am or just small ones. Between noon and 2 pm usually ziltch. 2 summers ago I followed the charts closely, I had the worst year ever fishing for bass. At any depth. Didn't catch one fish on a spinnerbait, for example.
I've discovered it all depends on the lake more than the tables. Then it also depends on your fishing methods and depth.
Sat. the 29th for example I did good from 5:15 am when I first threw in a line, till noon or so. The charts said the best times were from about 5am til about 8am. My 6.4 pounder came at about 11am. So much for THAT chart. It was sorta good, but then this time of year morning will most likely ALWAYS be good.
Yesterday the largemouth were VERY dark, meaning fresh from the depths, and more to come this month. And those 3 piticular fish came off the same weedline and within 10 yards of each other and 2 from the exact same spot on the corner of the weedline. And one of those 2 was almost black.
The 2 charts I have icons on the desktop are
In-Fishermen;
http://www.in-fisherman.com/solunar-calendar
and;
Rick Taylor's Prime Time, which I saw while doing an internet search for tbles;
http://www.primetimes2.com/pages/4-astrotables.html
They both have been worthless when it comes to acually catching fish during their chart's 'best times'.
