Anybody fish the newer Shimano Clarus rods?

Post by spokey9 » Wed Apr 11, 2012 7:18 am

Just exchanged my old clarus (brown blank) that i loved but finally broke on me for the new model with the charcoal blank. I had a couple of the green ones snap on me last year and am trying to decide if the ones are better or if i should unload it and get something else. i'm planning mainly to use when i'm bushwhacking the river, chums, and crowds when i don't want my good rods getting whooped on. ](*,)

I haven't fished the new clarus rods, but I did pick up a new convergence, and I love it so much more than my old one. The graphite is high class and super strong. I don't think they'd step backwards in quality, I'd try it on.

the green clarus in my opinion was a step back, but i just got back from gissberg trying for a channel cat (didn't even get a sniff) and finally got to use my new clarus a lil bit. definitely felt good in the hand and very sensitive. i could feel every twig my sinker bumped against on the retrieve, thanks for your opinion nate.
