Pretty sure you got it right. It is open Sunday now which is awesome. I crabbed down around Mud Bay quite a bit when I lived up there and did very well. Launch at Fairhaven, run south past Post Point and dip back in towards mud bay and throw the pots in there.

I dunno about crabbing in the bay, it is highly polluted. I would try and get down south a ways. Once Birch Bay opens its lights out!

If it is same as many other areas (like area 11 here) then ya I think U have it. I'm going out Friday just off the pier to toss a coupel ring traps. Hope it isn't a semi zoo like last year. Went a few times last year, skunked on dungies every time so gave up from crowds and lack of success. Year before was alright though. Good luck!

fishenfreak- just saw this on WDFW so you may have to wait for opener (mentioned B'ham as July 15):

You're right Knot, I seem to remember the Bellingham area as having a lame late opener.

The Birch Bay opener is WAY late, but worth it once its open.

I've got a question about crab possession in cooked/processed form. Regs state, for possession, one daily limit live and additional limits in processed form. I couldn't find a limit on processed form. Gotta keep the back shell while in the field for the processed crab. Does any one know to the contrary and can you point me to the reference, page?

Heading over to San Juan Island for a 3 day family outing, area south 7. If I understand the regs correctly, I should be able to bring 3 limits back for 3 days of crabbing as long as I cook/process the first 2 days' limits.

Thanks!

south 7 opens 15 july....... bring the butter..........
