Its creative fun. no argument from this wire bender.
Our thing is 'more components' = 'more noise'. Eye is very fishy looking, too good to ignore. I dont know if you found the hydrophone recordings of our spinners or not, but
www.fishcreekspinners.com/index_noise.html (paste in URL address box) page has quite a few stacked up.
You might get a kick out of listening to them. (especially good for chasing kids or spouses out of a room if you need some time to yourself).
The wire running thru the components amplifies the clevis or propeller rotation while the blade bangs the heck out of everything behind it. A lot of racket and vibration. Each model has its own noise profile. Checkout the little FireAnt or the differences between the glass armadillos vs metal. The metal discs make a lot of contact with the blade during rotation and that ring seems to cause a reaction strike response, like you said. After some use, you'll see friction wear lines on the underside of the blade matching the spacing of the discs.
I hope you try out a few and give them some time in the water. We've got a bunch of spinners waiting for some fishing adventure and anxious to get wet. Cast after Cast! Cheers.
