Medical

Post by raffensg64 » Mon Mar 14, 2011 5:55 am

As I drove out of town for the last time yesterday, I swung by Medical for one final look. As has been the case the past few years, the melt has started in the NE corner. There is a 5-10' sliver of water along the north bank. Further to the east, directly off the houses, this strip opens up to 30' or so. Makes me smile, thinking of the two guys I saw thigh-deep a couple years ago, in that very area, casting to the edge of the ice!

The area around the aerator is open, too. I think you'll find the north end fishable within a week, unlike the south end, which always needs a bit longer to open up. Good luck!

Thanks, Raff. I was wondering about how it was progressing.

Take care and keep in touch.[wink]

Funny I missed your post, but I fished Medical yesterday. Wasn't thigh deep, just ankle deep and go two nce browns in short order.

Have a great time in Alaska, and nice to have met you.

Gary had a great time fishing with you, and thank you for passing on to me your knowledge about fishing deep buzzers.

Enjoy alaska, be safe.

It was a pleasure meeting and fishing with you guys! I'm in Whitehorse, YT tonight, reading your posts and fishing reports, with a smile on my face. Kevin, don't wait for summer with the deep chronies. You can get them NOW! The warmest water is 30' down, go get after them. Good luck.

Hey, Gary, you know that if you change the location on your profile to Alaska, the key still fits.[wink]
