Northwest Fishing Reports

I have an 7 foot rod with a nice open faced reel 35 lb test. Will this be ok for deep sea for rockfish, halibut, etc?

How do you dig for these guys? What beaches can you get them from? can you get them all year? Any beaches near seattle?
